Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
Accounting & Financial Management
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reports.
- Monitor budgets, cash flow, and operating expenses for the farm.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax consultants as needed.
Systems & Tools:
- Efficiently use accounting software and tools (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP, or similar).
- Maintain and improve financial tracking systems for inventory, sales, and expenses.
- Generate periodic financial and management reports to support business decisions.
Sales & Revenue Support:
- Support the development and execution of sales strategies for fern and nursery products.
- Track sales performance, customer accounts, pricing, and margins.
- Assist in building new customer relationships and maintaining existing accounts.
- Coordinate with operations and sales teams to forecast demand and revenue.
- Analyze sales data to identify growth opportunities and improve profitability.
Operations & Coordination:
- Work closely with farm operations to align financial planning with production cycles.
- Support inventory costing and valuation related to nursery stock.
- Assist leadership with business planning, cost optimization, and scaling initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an accounting or account management role.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel/Google Sheets.
- Experience supporting or building sales and revenue operations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with nurseries, farms, agricultural, or horticulture businesses.
- Experience managing accounts in a small to mid-sized business environment.
