The Ambulatory & Physician Services Market Director is responsible for the operational oversight and direction of assigned provider practices and provider-based clinics. This role works in close collaboration with the AVP of Operations and facility leadership to implement strategy and initiatives for operational efficiency and growth. The Market Director provides leadership to one or more Clinic Administrators and/or Clinic Managers.
Key Responsibilities
∙Lead and oversee the operations of designated clinics, ensuring alignment with hospital strategy.
∙Manage all aspects of clinic operations, including financial reviews, revenue cycle analysis, and practice growth initiatives.
∙Conduct regular meetings with providers (biweekly and monthly), maintaining strong communication and addressing operational needs.
∙Prepare and review monthly performance reports with providers and APPs.
∙Participate in weekly Physician Services meetings and annual physician service events.
∙Conduct quarterly meetings with the Physician Group (all providers).
∙Develop budgets, analyze historical performance, set future goals, and implement action plans for variances.
∙Monitor financial performance and collaborate with clinic leaders to ensure fiscal accountability.
∙Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to Clinic Administrators.
∙Optimize practice efficiency, including AR oversight, charge capture, and monthly operating reports.
∙Support practice start-ups and revenue-building initiatives.
∙Implement and manage market plans to increase new patient volumes and drive clinic growth.
∙Manage clinic support staff, including HR-related responsibilities such as performance reviews.
∙Ensure consistent and reliable attendance.
∙Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must-Haves
1.Education:
oBachelor’s degree required (or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training).
oMaster’s degree preferred for larger markets.
2.Experience:
oMinimum of 7 years in physician practice management or similar healthcare leadership role.
3.Skills:
oStrong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Nice-to-Haves
∙Master’s degree in a related field.
∙CMPE or FACMPE certification.
∙Advanced skills in computer systems, business math, and financial analysis.
