Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with a variety of medical conditions and post-surgical needs. The Med-Surg RN is responsible for patient assessment, treatment implementation, and coordination of care while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to individuals recovering from surgery or managing acute and chronic medical conditions.

  • Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatments.

  • Administer medications, IV therapy, wound care, and other prescribed treatments following established protocols.

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams.

  • Educate patients and families about disease management, post-operative care, and discharge instructions.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety guidelines.

  • Assist in mobility, ambulation, and rehabilitation to prevent complications such as pressure ulcers and blood clots.

  • Monitor and assess pain levels, adjusting interventions as necessary for patient comfort.

  • Respond to emergencies and changes in patient conditions, initiating appropriate interventions.

  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure proper documentation of care provided.

  • Support a team-oriented environment, mentoring and assisting fellow nurses when needed.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of Recent (within the last year or 2) RN ACUTE CARE EXPERIENCE (Would Consider speaking with someone that has LTAC or Rehab experience but they need to have acute care experience in their background)
  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation. 
  • Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN preferred.
  • BLS, (AHA Healthcare provider) required within 30 days from start
  • NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • ACLS required within 6 months
Compensation: $30.45 - $44.24 per hour
