Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, intermediate-level care to patients who require close monitoring but are not in a critical care setting. The PCU RN will be responsible for assessing patient conditions, administering treatments, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to moderately to critically ill patients in a step-down or intermediate care setting.
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition, recognizing and responding to changes promptly.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and advanced therapies as ordered by physicians.
- Assist with respiratory support, including high-flow oxygen therapy and non-invasive ventilation.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Perform frequent neurological, cardiac, and hemodynamic assessments.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, and post-hospital care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
- Respond to emergency situations, including performing Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
- 1 year of recent (Within the last year) acute care PCU Experience. *Would Consider speaking with someone that has acute care ER RN experience or 3 years of acute Med-Surg experience *all experience has to be recent (within the last year)
- Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree
- Advance Nurse Practitioner, or Registered Nurse
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Compensation: $26.40 - $39.60 per hour
