Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Medical-Surgical Nurse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Med-Surg unit. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for supervising nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, optimizing workflows, and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. This leadership role requires strong clinical expertise, team management skills, and the ability to drive improvements in patient care and staff performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision, guidance, and mentorship to Med-Surg nursing staff.

  • Manage staffing schedules, assignments, and resource allocation to ensure adequate patient coverage.

  • Monitor and evaluate patient care quality, implementing improvements as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).

  • Assist in the development and implementation of evidence-based best practices for Med-Surg care.

  • Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and hospital leadership to optimize patient outcomes.

  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities for staff.

  • Address patient concerns, staff conflicts, and operational challenges in a timely and effective manner.

  • Manage department budgets, supply inventory, and cost-effective resource utilization.

  • Lead initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction, safety, and clinical outcomes.

  • Support staff in emergency situations, acting as a clinical resource when needed.

What qualifications you will need: 

  • Seeking RECENT ACUTE CARE RN leadership experience at least 2-3 years of Supervisor/Manager level experience.  *Open to any adult inpatient experience from an acute hospital setting  HOWEVER, The Facility STRONLY PREFERS  CANDIDATES HAVING LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE in Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, etc. type experience – something similar * NEEDS TO HAVE CURRENT ACUTE CARE EXPERIENCE * WILL NOT CONSIDER TRAVEL CHARGE NURSE EXPERIENCE AS THAT'S SHORT LIVED ASSIGNMENTS
  • Associate’s in Nursing or BSN

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse, or Advance Nurse Practitioner
Compensation: $90,000.00 - $106,000.00 per year
