Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate CV ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team. The CV ICU RN is responsible for providing specialized critical care to patients recovering from cardiac surgery, heart failure, and other serious cardiovascular conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, experience in critical care nursing, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced critical care for patients with life-threatening cardiovascular conditions.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, ventilators, and other life support systems.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips such as vasopressors and inotropes.
- Assist with and monitor patients following open-heart surgery, ECMO, IABP, and VAD procedures.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, intensivists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform rapid assessments and interventions during medical emergencies.
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced medical equipment, including intra-aortic balloon pumps and ventilators.
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and document all interventions.
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and hospital policies at all times.
Job Requirements:
· Open to candidates with other RECENT (WITHIN THE LAST 2 YEARS) of Acute Care experience but if the nurse has less than 2 years' experience, they need to have a strong background in critical care, ER, ICU, PCU, MICU, etc. If the candidate only has med/surg, psych, or low acuity experience, they will need several years. * ideal candidate is a two year PCU nurse that's ready to grow in cardiac.
- If a candidate has 3 or more years of experience as an RN and if they have their compact license (They’ll still need to apply for the FL license) we can consider and move forward.

- If a candidate has less than 3 years of RN experience, they’ll need to take the NCLEX in FL and once they pass we can consider (This is if candidates do not have a FL RN License)
· BLS required
· ACLS required within 6 months of hire
· BSN is preferred
· CCRN a plus but must be obtained within 2 years. NIHSS stroke certification required within 30 days.
Compensation: $27.72 - $39.60 per hour
