Job Title: Civil Engineer (PE)
Location: Northbrook, IL
Compensation: $91,000 - $100,000
Job Summary:
A well-established civil engineering firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and coordination of a variety of civil engineering projects, from initial client contact through construction completion. This role requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and the ability to manage projects effectively while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and coordinate civil engineering projects, including feasibility studies, drainage studies, land development, and roadway design.
  • Prepare construction documents, cost estimates, and project schedules.
  • Obtain necessary permits from local, state, and federal agencies (IEPA, MWRD, IDOT, IDNR, FEMA, Army Corps of Engineers).
  • Conduct field observations and construction layout.
  • Prepare stormwater management reports, calculations, and permit applications.
  • Manage client contracts and communicate project progress to stakeholders.
  • Schedule survey crews and coordinate with reviewing agencies.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/Geopark/Open Roads software.
  • Prepare sanitary sewer and watermain designs.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois.
  • 5+ years of professional civil engineering experience.
  • Experience in land development, grading, roadway design, and stormwater management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation/Geopark/Open Roads.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM).
  • Experience with TR20 and EPASWMM software.

Compensation: $91,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
