Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU is responsible for providing direct and compassionate care to critically ill patients. This role requires a high level of clinical expertise in managing complex and life-threatening conditions, including but not limited to, cardiac, respiratory, and neurological emergencies. The RN will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, ensure patient safety, and support family members during critical care scenarios.

The RN will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, ensure patient safety, and support family members during critical care scenarios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, lab results, and other diagnostic data to make informed decisions regarding patient care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Assist in the management of life-support equipment and technologies, such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors.
- Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients and their families about their condition and treatment plan.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment, adhering to infection control standards and hospital protocols.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, education, and training to stay current with ICU best practices and innovations.
- Document patient care accurately and comprehensively in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Respond to emergencies and critical situations swiftly and efficiently, demonstrating strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong knowledge of ICU procedures, equipment, and patient care protocols.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both with patients and within a team setting.
- Compassionate and patient-focused attitude, with an ability to remain calm and focused in critical situations.
