Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Laboratory to lead and manage our laboratory services in Mayfield, KY. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and implement best practices to deliver high-quality laboratory services. This is a key leadership role that requires excellent technical, managerial, and communication skills.
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Laboratory to lead and manage our laboratory services in Mayfield, KY. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and implement best practices to deliver high-quality laboratory services. This is a key leadership role that requires excellent technical, managerial, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all laboratory operations, including clinical and administrative functions.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including CLIA, CAP, and other relevant standards.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Manage and mentor laboratory staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Oversee budget preparation, financial performance, and resource allocation for the laboratory department.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other departments to ensure seamless integration of laboratory services.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of laboratory test results.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and develop strategies to enhance patient care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Current certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive laboratory leadership experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory operations, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and lead a multidisciplinary team.
