We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Physician to join our team in Flagstaff, AZ. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Physician to join our team in Flagstaff, AZ. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, specialized care to children requiring intensive medical management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex medical conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Perform and oversee advanced procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and ventilation management as needed.
- Monitor patient progress, ensuring timely adjustments to treatment plans based on clinical changes.
- Communicate effectively with patients' families, providing support, education, and updates regarding treatment and prognosis.
- Collaborate with pediatric subspecialists, nurses, and support staff to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based care in the PICU.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Board Certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
- Active medical license in the state of Arizona or ability to obtain prior to start.
- Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
- Proven experience working in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
