Job Description: Urology Nurse Practitioner
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Urology Nurse Practitioner to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized care in urology, working collaboratively with physicians and healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. This role involves both direct patient care and involvement in the management of urological conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with urological conditions, including physical exams, medical history reviews, and diagnostic testing.
  • Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans for patients, including prescribing medications and recommending lifestyle modifications.
  • Perform urological procedures, such as catheterizations, cystoscopies, and urodynamic studies, within the scope of practice.
  • Educate patients and their families on urological conditions, treatment options, preventive care, and post-treatment management.
  • Collaborate with urologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in ongoing research, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education to stay updated on the latest developments in urology.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a specialization in Urology or related field.
  • Licensure: Current Nurse Practitioner license and certification in the state of practice; Urology Nurse Practitioner Certification (if applicable).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in urology or a related specialty as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Skills: Proficiency in performing urological procedures and interpreting diagnostic tests; strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to educate and support patients and their families.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment.
