Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients in a Med Surg unit, managing their medical and surgical needs while supporting their cancer treatment plans.
- Administer chemotherapy, pain management, and other oncology-specific treatments, monitoring for side effects and adjusting care plans as needed.
- Conduct thorough assessments of oncology patients, documenting vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatments, and communicating findings to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with oncologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care, including preoperative and postoperative care for surgical oncology patients.
- Educate patients and their families on cancer diagnosis, treatment options, side effect management, and the importance of follow-up care, providing emotional support throughout their journey.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including treatment administration, patient progress, and any adverse events, ensuring compliance with regulatory and hospital standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Med Surg or Oncology setting.
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of oncology nursing, chemotherapy administration, and surgical care principles.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and critical thinking skills, with a commitment to providing patient-centered care in a supportive and compassionate manner.

Compensation: $35.00 - $60.00 per hour
