Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients admitted to the Observation Unit, monitoring their condition to determine if further treatment or hospital admission is necessary.
- Conduct thorough assessments upon patient admission, documenting vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms to develop appropriate care plans.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV fluids as prescribed, closely monitoring patients for any adverse reactions or changes in their condition.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate patient progress and make informed decisions regarding discharge or continued observation.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and post-discharge care, ensuring they understand follow-up instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and hospital standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing setting, preferably in an Observation Unit or Med-Surg Unit.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to manage multiple patients and make quick, informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care and teamwork.
Compensation: $29.00 - $43.00 per hour
