Job Description: Respiratory Therapist
Responsibilities:
- Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders, using specialized techniques and equipment to improve respiratory function.
- Perform diagnostic tests, such as measuring lung capacity and analyzing blood oxygen levels, to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments and adjust them as needed.
- Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans, in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals, based on patient needs and medical conditions.
- Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medication delivery, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and the proper use of respiratory equipment, promoting adherence to prescribed therapies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and hospital standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Active state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in respiratory therapy, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care techniques, equipment, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Compensation: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
