Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to join our Outpatient Rehabilitation team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will specialize in providing expert care to patients with upper extremity injuries and conditions. The ideal candidate will hold a CHT credential and have a passion for promoting optimal hand and upper extremity function through evidence-based rehabilitation techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Evaluation and Diagnosis:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients with upper extremity injuries, including the hand, wrist, and elbow.
- Utilize advanced clinical skills and diagnostic tools to formulate accurate diagnoses.
- Customized Treatment Planning:
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient goals, and evidence-based interventions.
- Administer specialized hand therapy techniques, exercises, and manual interventions to enhance functional mobility and reduce pain.
- Orthotic Fabrication and Prescription:
- Evaluate the need for and fabricate custom orthotic devices to support hand and upper extremity rehabilitation.
- Provide recommendations for orthotic prescriptions to optimize patient outcomes.
- Patient Education:
- Educate patients on their hand and upper extremity conditions, treatment plans, and home exercise programs.
- Offer guidance on ergonomic principles, adaptive techniques, and strategies for injury prevention.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
- Work collaboratively with referring physicians, orthopedic specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient evaluations, progress, and treatment plans in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Provide timely and clear reports to healthcare providers as needed.
- Continuing Education:
- Stay abreast of advancements in hand therapy and upper extremity rehabilitation.
- Participate in continuing education activities to maintain and enhance CHT credentials.
Qualifications:
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential required.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Physical Therapist (PT).
- Proficient in custom orthotic fabrication and prescription.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
Compensation: $32.00 - $48.93 per hour
